Students can explore four different Enterprise programs—Brands, Consulting, Ventures, and Funds—where students are expected to address challenges and create results for real clients.

The Carlson School integrates a global approach by requiring all graduate students to incorporate an international experience into their studies. Known as the Global Discovery Program, the course explores topics that have an impact on businesses worldwide and is then followed up with a two-week international experience.

The school offers a full-time and part-time M.B.A., an executive M.B.A., and a Ph.D. program, as well as specialized graduate degrees in Accounting, Human Resources & Industrial Relations, and Taxation. Joint degrees are offered in conjunction with the School of Public Health, the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, the Law School, the Medical School, and the College of Pharmacy. Students that live and study at the campus in Minneapolis are in close proximity to museums, big-city nightlife, numerous dining  options, and plenty of green space.

There are more than 50,000 alumni of the Carlson School of Management, and some of the notable alumni include William Grant Van Dyke, former chairman, president, and CEO of Donaldson Co., a worldwide provider of filtration systems and replacement parts, and Duane Burnham, former chairman, CEO, and president of Abbott Laboratories, a global pharmaceuticals company.
