The Real Science At Novosibirsk State University
Novosibirsk State University (NSU) is a Russian University, first established in 1959. NSU is located a short distance from the city of Novosibirsk, southern Siberia, in the world-renowned research hub Akademgorodok. 70 research laboratories and almost 50 research institutes are nearby, investigating various scientific and mathematical fields. A high proportion of faculty at NSU are members of the Russian Academy of Sciences. A such students have the chance to work closely with modern experts in their field. A full range of 15 different degrees are available with English instruction, from general medicine to a PhD in astroparticle physics to Russian language courses. NSU is the perfect place to study for anyone unable to decide whether they should become a doctor or a physicist: it offers an unusual degree in Nuclear Medicine. While Novosibirsk is the third largest city in Russia, it is substantially cheaper than Moscow and St Petersburg in terms of cost of living. Students can enjoy the cultural benefits, such as a trip to the ballet. As the transport hub of Siberia, studying in Novosibirsk means easy links to the region’s magnificent scenery. While Siberia is known for its snowy winters, it also offers pleasant summers. Swimming and water sports are popular summer activities in the local lake.
