Highlights We cater to all levels of study; from pathway and English language programmes to PhD study. Our eight faculties offer a wide range of study options, including: All international students must meet academic and English language entry requirements. As an international student you may be entitled to domestic PhD fees, averaging about $6000 – $6500 a year (2018 fees) Explore our courses We are one of New Zealand’s leading research organisations with seven research institutes that contribute towards solving national and international issues. More than 90% of our students are satisfied with their experience at Waikato (International Student Barometer Survey 2018). Services include:   Purpose-built facilities Student Centre – Hamilton This is a multi-functional space with fully equipped library, five-star rated for sustainability. This facility is also the information centre for students and the hub for most of our student support services. Study spaces and computers are available to students. Coastal Marine Field Station - Tauranga The Coastal Marine Field Station is a key contributor to marine research. Here, students have the opportunity to put their learning into practice. Adams Centre for High-Performance – Tauranga A cutting-edge, world-class facility for the nation’s best athletes to train and prepare for competition on the world stage. The centre includes facilities for sport science and research by University of Waikato students and academics. Sport Science Lab – Hamilton Located at the Avantidrome in nearby Cambridge, Waikato staff and students work in the lab to provide specialist fitness testing services for recreational and high-performance athletes, sports teams and schools. Cyber Security Lab – Hamilton Located in the Faculty of Computing and Mathematical Sciences in Hamilton, the lab was one of the first of its kind in New Zealand. Its focus is to develop solutions that enable computer users to know their data provenance, and to preserve the privacy and utility of data.     Hamilton, New Zealand A beautiful riverside city in New Zealand’s North Island, Hamilton is a relaxed and multicultural city with a strong economy. The city makes a major contribution to New Zealand’s innovation and research and is fast becoming a business hub for information technology businesses. Hamilton enjoys a vibrant café scene and there are many spaces and places to connect with nature on river walks, bush treks and at the internationally acclaimed Hamilton Gardens. Located in the centre of the island, Hamilton is close to some of New Zealand’s most popular tourist attractions, and the city centres of Auckland and Tauranga.
